About us
The South Yorkshire Office for Data Analytics (SYODA) is a collaborative pilot programme seeking to highlight the benefits of potential use of increased data sharing, and analytical capacity for evidence-based decision making by regional organisations and partners.
The SYODA pilot was established in response to a defined regional policy need and the belief that better data use leads to better evidence and results in better decisions. Directed and co-funded by the (SYMCA), the pilot uses University of 91̽»¨ expertise and analytics and aims to build the case for a permanent SYODA service.
The pilot will deliver five ‘demonstrator’ research projects to illustrate the benefits that as examples of the outcomes which could be delivered by a permanent SYODAOffice for Data Analytics. The five demonstrator pilot projects will cover the following South Yorkshire policy areas:
- Regional Emissions Budgeting: Framework
- Hydrogen Conversion and Grid Capacity
- Innovation Challenges
- Digital Poverty
- Household Financial Fragility
The pilot concluded at the end of June 2022 and as well as the outcomes of the five pilot projects, a business case for a permanent SYODA offering will be produced.
