Extenuating Circumstances

Extenuating Circumstances are usually personal or health problems that are defined as exceptional, short term events which are outside of the student’s control and have a negative impact on your ability to prepare or take an assessment.

If your circumstances are affecting your ability to engage with your programme of study (including attending classes and submitting assessments) you must notify your department as soon as possible.

By contacting the MLTC about your modules you are only reporting an issue with the modules taught by the MLTC. If your other modules from other departments (e.g. your home department) are also being affected you will need to contact them directly.

The MLTC has a separate inbox where student welfare enquiries and requests for assistance with study may be directed - mltc.welfare@sheffield.ac.uk
