SCEnAT

Funded by Yorkshire Forward, the  is a software tool to help companies map and understand where their carbon footprint hotspots are in the supply chain, thus enabling them to target and evaluate the effects of appropriate interventions.

SCEnAT incorporates an evidence-based living decision support system, integrates different supply chain modules and encapsulates different supply chain configurations. The key benefits of the tool and its use include:

  • Improved efficiency and bottom line costs.
  • Closer relationship with suppliers, customers and stakeholders
  • Cost-effective, informed and quantifiable intervention and innovation strategy in key areas of the supply chain
  • Balanced economic demands with a reduced carbon footprint

Development of SCEnAT

SCEnAT is the result of a research project undertaken by the University of 91̽»¨ in partnership with the University of Hull and the Stockholm Environment Institute at the University of York, funded by the Centre for Low Carbon Futures (CLCF).

An inter-disciplinary team of academics from several disciplines (including Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Social Sciences) is ensuring the continuous enhancement of SCEnAT. The team is led by Professor Lenny Koh, from the Management School of the University of 91̽»¨.

SCEnAT has been developed in close collaboration with industry partners. Companies from the Advisory Board have been given the opportunity of testing the tool throughout its development process.

The Advisory Board includes both Large Multinational Organisations and regional SMEs. Several UK Chambers of Commerce are also part of the Board, and have recommended SCEnAT to their members.
