Profile

Yuen Sin Cheong graduated from the University of 91̽»¨ with a BEng (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 and then a PhD in Chemical & Process Engineering in 2006. During his PhD, he studied binder granulation processes and granule strength characterisation using a combination of experimental techniques and discrete particle simulation. He then took a postdoctoral position at Cambridge University, funded by Pfizer, where he developed particle flow models to investigate the effect of inhaler design on dry powder dispersion.

He moved to Pfizer UK R&D in 2008 where he worked on pharmaceutical process development in areas such as scale up of blending and tablet compression. In 2012, he joined the Beijing Technical Centre of P&G as a process modelling and simulation analyst responsible for the development of modelling capability and application of in-silico tools to help accelerate the transfer of detergent granulation processes from lab to manufacturing scales.
