When I coach clients, I love to speak metaphorically and use experiences I have gone through as analogies to explain concepts.
It was no surprise to me when while out on a walk one day with Willow (my canine family member), I started to wonder, “If I had a theme song, what would it be?
It wasn’t long before the song “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” started playing in my mind.
Although it was written as a love song between two humans, I heard it slightly differently.
I’m learning the value of slowing down and allowing my wisdom to be heard over the constant chatter of my ego, which seems to have one mode – rush in and fix.
There is a rhythm and flow to life. Our journey (the river flow) surely knows where it’s going without hesitation. When I get out of the way, remove the barriers, let go of the bank and relax with less struggle, it all falls into place as if it was meant to be.
Surrendering wholly and unconditionally. Trusting the process.
We fall in love. Nobody ever climbed to love, rose to love, risen to love. Love was never a destine. It’s our nature to be in love. We remove ourselves from love with our conditions, expectations, and the rules of what we think life ought to be. When we let go and rest with a quiet mind, we naturally fall back into love.
You can’t help it.
You can’t help falling in love with life.
You can’t help falling in love with people.
You can’t help falling in love with you, the unconditional you.
Do I feel this song in my heart all the time? Nope.
What’s your theme song?
Please share in the comments why this is your song.
You are more than welcome to share mine. I hold no rights or ownership.
I would like to suggest that you already have this one on your playlist.
With lots of Love,
