Track Talk #4 -Being at ‘awe’

I love the feeling of ‘awe’.

The dictionary defines awe as – a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.

When I am on a trip to some place new and seeing places and things for the first time, I am at awe constantly. I know that is why I love trips and look forward to the next one.

I still remember the first time I stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon and all I could say was…wow.

That feeling of awe standing at the top of a mountain…

Or that time when kayaking through the Broken Group and a humpback whale surfaced in front of me! RESPECT AND FEAR

There are other moments, like walking along the tracks and looking up and seeing a rainbow and that realization of how much of a small role I play in this vast, full of wonderment world.

The world is full of awe and yet you really don’t have to go far to experience it either.

You can find the awe right in your own backyard.
