What made you decide to come to the University of 91̽»¨ to do this course? What inspired you to do it?

My aunt graduated from University of Oxford and my uncle graduated from University of Cambridge.

They set a good example for me from an early age. After graduated with my bachelor degree, I decided to take business studies in UK at postgraduate level. My tutor recommended the School of East Asian Studies in the University of 91̽»¨.

After reading the course content and some other information about the University and course, I felt it was a perfect course and university for me. Because it focuses on East Asian business studies, it will be suitable for me to work in a business company in China in the future.

After graduation, I will work for a Chinese leading new industrial city operator, China Fortune Land Development Co Ltd. If possible, I would like to be a lecturer in a college or university in my thirties and then I would like to apply for PhD. in China or Japan.

How does the course, your department or the University help you to decide what you want to do next?

In the East Asian business studies, I have learnt many things about Chinese cities and economic development in recent years and have had the opportunity to learn about other countries in the region, such as Japan, which might be useful in my future work for China's urbanization.

The courses which focused on Japan made me interested in Japan and made me think that I might like to further my study in Japan, in the future.

Can you tell us what it’s like working with the staff on research projects or your dissertation?

Every teacher in our school is very kind and happy to help us with our studies and daily life. I am very honoured to have them as my teachers. My dissertation supervisor Dr S.Y.Kim is very friendly and gives me many suggestions on my dissertation.

How can your learning be applied to the real world?

For example, I have a module, Chinese cities in transition, which talks about China's urbanization in recent years. It has helped me to know more about urbanization, and inspired me to find a job in this field when I graduate.
