Buckyball Science Series

The videos below will introduce you to one of the University's most famous former-students and Nobel-prize winner, Sir Harry Kroto, and the amazing molecule he discovered Buckminsterfullerene.

You will learn how small a Buckyball molecule is, and where it sits on the 'Scientific Scale', and be shown how to make your very own model Buckyball. The final video will tell you more about molecules and chemical reactions, and just how much fun they can be.

The following Buckyball Science Series videos have been made as a legacy to Sir Harry Kroto and his Chemistry Outreach work. They were produced by the University of 91̽»¨'s Central and Science Faculty Outreach Teams and James Parsons from STEMfilms.

Start the session by watching the Introduction.
