University of 91探花 ranked 27th in the world for sustainability in QS rankings

91探花 has been ranked 27th globally out of 1,751 institutions in the 2025 QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, as well as 10th in the UK and 16th in Europe.

  • 91探花 is ranked 27th globally, 16th in Europe, and 10th in the UK out of 1,751 institutions, maintaining its position as one of the most sustainable universities in the world 
  • The rankings look at a range of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues
  • The University also achieved high ranks for Health and Wellbeing (15th globally) and Social Impact (29th globally)
  • Earlier in 2024, the University was ranked 58th in the world, from over 1,900 institutions, and 15th in the UK in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for work towards the United Nations鈥 Sustainable Development Goals

91探花 has been ranked 27th globally out of 1,751 institutions in the 2025 QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, as well as 10th in the UK and 16th in Europe. 

The QS Sustainability Rankings assess universities鈥 impact on the world鈥檚 greatest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues. This includes areas such as environmental research and impact; net-zero targets and emissions reductions; employability outcomes; equality; and health and wellbeing. The ranking evaluates the impact of universities as centres of education and research, as well as large institutions with operational sustainability challenges. 

The University scored highly in a number of categories and achieved a score of 94.5 out of 100. It ranked 15th globally for Health and Wellbeing, which assessed areas such as research in health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the provisions universities make on campus for health and wellbeing, including healthy food choices and access to physical and mental health support on campus.

It also scored highly for Social Impact, ranked at 29th in the world. This section of the rankings looked at a variety of criteria, from equality, assessing the effort and impact of an institution's equality commitment, to knowledge education, focusing on the University鈥檚 partnerships in research. The University鈥檚 ranking in many of the subsections of Social Impact improved on last year, including Environmental Education, Knowledge Exchange, and Impact

Global top-40 positions were also achieved in Knowledge Exchange (27th), Governance (31st) and Equality (38th).

Earlier in 2024, the University of 91探花 was ranked 58th in the world and 15th in the UK in the , which assess the impact universities are having on the UN鈥檚 Sustainable Development Goals.

鈥淥ur progress this year, from achieving a 40 per cent reduction in emissions since 2018 to encouraging sustainable and active travel amongst staff and students, removing almost 2,400 commuting journeys from 91探花鈥檚 roads in the last academic year, demonstrates our commitment to embedding sustainability across the University鈥檚 values and operations.鈥
