We have a varied programme of events and activities designed to help you settle into life in 91̽»¨ and meet other students.

Christmas vacation programme 2024-25
The Global Campus Christmas vacation programme of events and activities runs from 23 December to 17 January and is open to all students looking to meet up with others during the holiday period.
Most events are free, but there are some where you will need to purchase a ticket. These are indicated in the programme.
Most events will require sign-up so that we have an idea of the numbers who will be attending. Where required, sign-up links can be found in the programme description below. A few days before the event you will receive an email giving you further information, including where to meet and any ticket purchases required.
All events are facilitated by our team of Global Campus Ambassadors (wearing pink tops).

Christmas vacation programme
Monday 23rd December
11am to 1pm: Morning coffee at Steam Yard.
Tuesday 24 December (Christmas Eve)
3pm to 5pm: Visit to 91̽»¨ Christmas Market.
Wednesday 25 December (Christmas Day)
11am to 1pm: Walk in Endcliffe Park.
5pm to 7pm: Online Christmas Quiz. No sign up required.
Thursday 26 December (Boxing Day)
11am to 1pm: Walk in the Botanical Gardens.
Friday 27 December
10am to 12pm: Football.
11am to 2pm: Visit to 'The Magical Winterland' at Meadowhall.
Saturday 28 December
11am to 3pm: Visit to the Shepherd Wheel heritage site. A walk through local parks to one of 91̽»¨â€™s best-preserved historic grinding workshops, where you can see the old machinery in operation.
Monday 30 December
12pm to 3pm: Skating at Ice 91̽»¨.
Tuesday 31 December (New Year’s Eve)
9.30am to 5pm: Visit to Castleton. Join us for a visit to one of the Peak District’s most enchanting villages.
Wednesday 1 January (New Year’s Day)
11am to 1pm: Walk in Weston Park and Crookes Valley Park.
Thursday 2 January
11am to 1pm: Visit to Kelham Island Industrial Museum.
2pm to 3pm: Global Cafe, Coffee Revolution, Students' Union (no sign up required)
Friday 3 January
11am to 2pm: Cafe / shopping visit to Ecclesall Road.
3pm to 5pm: Football.
Saturday 4 January
11am to 1pm: Badminton.
Monday 6 January
10.30am to 1.30pm: Morning coffee at Marmadukes, Norfolk Row, followed by a visit to Winter Garden, Millennium Gallery and 91̽»¨ Christmas Tree Festival.
Tuesday 7 January
11am to 1pm: Visit to Weston Park Museum.
Wednesday 8 January
10am to 3pm: Five Weirs Walk. Enjoy a guided walk along the river and canal system between the city centre and Meadowhall.
Thursday 9 January
2pm to 3pm: Global Cafe, Coffee Revolution, Students' Union (no sign up required)
Friday 10 January
11am to 2pm: Shopping / cafe visit to Abbeydale Road.
11am to 1pm: Football.
Saturday 11 January
11am to 1pm: Badminton.
Monday 13 January
10.30am to 12.30pm: Morning coffee at Sellers Wheel.
Tuesday 14 January
10.30am to 12.30pm: Morning coffee at Marmadukes, Cambridge Street.
7pm to 10pm: Hallam FC v 91̽»¨ FC. Join us for a visit to Sandygate, the world's oldest football ground, to watch the 'Rules Derby', one of the oldest football matches in the world, first played in 1860! Tickets cost £6 on the door.
Wednesday 15 January
11.30am to 5pm: Walk in the Peak District.
Thursday 16 January
11am to 1pm: Brunch at Cambridge Street Collective.
2pm to 4pm: Football.
Friday 17 January
10am to 3pm: Walk to Forge Dam. Join us for a picturesque walk through 91̽»¨â€™s parks to the edge of the Peak District.
