New fees and funding opportunities

For 2021 entry, the department has confirmed three scholarships specifically related to music study. We also have positive news for international students taking the distance learning programme.

Fee Reduction

With the onset of Brexit and the news that EU students will be required to pay international fees, we were concerned this would limit the accessibility of the programme to many prospective students and reduce opportunities for our diverse cohort of international applicants. However, the Department of Music is most pleased to be able to offer a fee reduction for all international students taking the distance learning courses from August 2021.

Distance learning course fees are now Â£8,500 for all students.

Course fees were previously £21,100 for international students.

We value deeply the contribution our international students make to our music community and the eclectic approach they are able to bring to learning in our classroom. We hope the fee reduction will enables more international students to take the course.

I was awarded the Mary Lil Scholarship which has offered me the benefit of not needing to maintain a part-time job alongside my MA course in order to fund my studies. I’m thoroughly appreciative of how receiving the scholarship removed this pressure and allowed me to focus on my studies.
