There are lots of LGBT+ committees, societies and events you can get involved in during your time at university.

Committees and societies 

Students’ Union LGBT+ committee 

The represents students of minority gender identities / sexual orientations. They run regular events and socials throughout the year, and provide support for all LGBT+ students.

LGBT+ in STEM society 

The society aims to support and bring together LGBT+ students studying STEM subjects across the University. 

They also run a range of socials, events, and talks from people in industry. 

Medics LGBT+ and allies society

The contribute towards LGBT+ activism, education and awareness. They also run events and inclusive socials. 

LGBT+ mathematical science student group

If you’re in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, you can join the LGBT+ student group to meet other students in the school. 


91̽»¨ Professional LGBT+ and Allies Network (PLAN)

aims to uplift LGBT+ students when transitioning into the workplace. They put on events about inclusivity in the workplace and run socials where you can meet other students.

NUS LGBT+ Network

The NUS (National Union of Students) LGBT+ network is a space for student campaigners to share advice, resources and experience relating to LGBT+ liberation campaigning.

is the Student's Union's LGBT+ club night. Everyone is welcome at Grapefruit, students & non-students from the community & allies!

Our Student Experience, Diversity and Inclusion team (SEDI) organise events and tailored support activities for students with a variety of lived experiences that aim to build a sense of community and belonging.

is an events programme full of one off activities for you to try while you’re a student. You can find LGBT+ Give it a Go activities. 


Sports 

Pride in Sport and your Students’ Union Wellbeing and Sports Officer ensure that clubs undergo LGBT+ inclusions training every year, including receiving a Pride in Sport inclusions guide. 

also run LGBT+ gym or swim sessions during times such as Pride in Sport (February).

Report + Support

Report and Support allows staff and students to report concerns, anonymously or with their contact details, about an experience they have had or witnessed at the University.
