Unlocking Resilient Benefits from African Water Resources
This collaborative project with the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Water Centre of Excellence (led by Rhodes University, South Africa, ) applies a novel transformative, transdisciplinary, community-engaged research approach to shift water development outcomes towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Nine leading African universities support case study sites for catchment research in Senegal, Tanzania and Ethiopia, plus urban water research in Nigeria and Uganda, with learning sites and cross-cutting biodiversity research in South Africa and Rwanda.
