A Panel Event on Time and Space in Displacement: 25 January at 5-6:30pm

IGSD will host Prof. Shahram Khosravi, Dr Ann-Christin Zuntz, and Karam Yahya for an intriguing discussion on time and space in displacement.

Time and Space

On Tuesday 25th January, the IGSD will host Professor (Professor, Stockholm University), Dr (Lecturer, University of Edinburgh), and (Master’s student, Humboldt University Berlin) for an intriguing discussion on time and space in displacement. In the Institute’s first event as the IGSD (formerly SIID), the panellists will draw on their research and lived experiences of displacement to examine temporal themes, such as waiting and uncertainty, alongside spatial themes, such as borders and humanitarian spaces. The three speakers will also reflect on the unique time-space of the ‘field’ and of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The panel event will be held from 5 to 6:30pm online. The format of the event will be a conversation between the three panellists moderated by Dr Melissa Gatter (Postdoctoral Research Associate, IGSD), followed by a Q&A with the audience.

This event will be of interest to researchers interested in time and space as well as scholars of migration, the Middle East, and ‘Fortress Europe’.
