It's normal to be nervous and unsure but it's such a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Why did you decide to study abroad?
It was compulsory for my degree but I chose it for the opportunity to go abroad!
What were your top 3 highlights whilst studying abroad?
- Travelling.
- Meeting new people from so many different backgrounds.
- Improving my language skills.
What would you say to someone who was unsure about spending a period abroad?
That it's now or never. It's normal to be nervous and unsure. No one is completely calm when moving abroad by themselves, but it's such a good, once in a lifetime opportunity. You can move abroad when you're out in 'the real world' but it's just not the same and it will be much harder.
What is the one thing you wish you'd known before you left?
How quickly it was going to go by. I have enjoyed it but I wish I had soaked it in more.
For students who will be arriving in 91̽»¨, what are your top recommendations for things to do and see in 91̽»¨?
I'd say hiking in the Peak District and also taking a walk around the Botanical Gardens. I'm personally a big fan of the Tabby Teas cat cafe near the Moor and the Little Boba Cafe next to Devonshire Green for bubble tea.
