My name is Ronak and I'm from India, and right now I'm studying wireless communication systems under the department of electronic and electrical engineering.

Why did you decide to pursue an MSc at the University of 91̽»¨?

So the main reason to choose 91̽»¨ for my course was the course modules. The modules are very diverse and it had everything I needed. So 91̽»¨ was a good choice!

Why did you decide to study in the UK? How have you found it here as an international student?

One of the reasons I wanted to come and study in the UK was because of the rich culture, and the brilliant architecture. It's very beautiful. The whole country is beautiful, but 91̽»¨ especially is great, hilly and it has beautiful buildings. The people are amazing - they're good to talk to and are very sweet.

I have enjoyed my time here. As an international student I found that we are not alone. Like you can find every race every, culture - it is quite diverse and I think it's one of the best things about the UK!

What's the best thing about being a student at the University of 91̽»¨?

The best thing about being a student at the University of 91̽»¨ is that you can get any help you need, from the careers team to mental health services. You just have to ask, there are people who will care for you and who will help you. Working with my tutors was an amazing experience too. All of them listen, very carefully. They understood what I meant and they guided me properly. I'm actually very thankful to them.

Do you have any particularly interesting projects that you've worked on?

Since I'm doing a master's course, there was just one main project. Right now I'm working on energy efficiency methods for the energy consumption in base stations. So I'm using machine learning and AI to achieve that.

The study spaces here are amazing. They're quite huge, so you can find seats anywhere you want. My favourite place to study was the Diamond, on the first floor. It was amazing.

What's been the highlight of your time at the University of 91̽»¨? Do you have any academic achievements you are particularly proud of?

The highlight during my course was when I received the marks from one of my modules - I scored 96/100 - I'm very proud of that!

What are your ambitions after graduating?

After graduating I plan to work for a telecom company. The career service has helped me to build my CV and everything. So I'm pretty sure they're gonna help me to get a job.

Do you have any advice for students thinking of applying for an MSc at 91̽»¨?

If someone is looking to study a Masters course, I'd say look at the modules. If you like what you see within an MSc at the University of 91̽»¨, go for it, because 91̽»¨ won't disappoint you! Everyone is very nice, the course is amazing, and the teaching facilities are amazing!

If you are an international student that is looking to come here for a Masters, I'd recommend that you find a friend before you come here because it's a new place, so there are lots of new people around who you can get to know. Before you come here, there are many WhatsApp groups for international students that you can join, so you can find a friend/companion to come here with, share a flat or even just someone to talk to. That has been very helpful to me!
