Ruoxi joined the 91̽»¨ Methods Institute (SMI) as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2024. Her research interests include cultural economics, public economics, heritage economics, and the relationships between economic and cultural policy, with particular focuses on well-being and cultural policy.
She completed her DPhil in Economics at Macquarie University in 2023, where she studied the impact of stimulus policy on cultural consumption, as well as the relationship between well-being and cultural participation. In her postdoctoral role at the SMI, Ruoxi is working as part of the Policy and Evidence Centre for the Creative Industries (Creative PEC), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, on the workstream on Arts, Culture, and Heritage, led by Dr Mark Taylor with Dr Siobhan McAndrew and Professor Dave O’Brien.
Ruoxi has experience working with government and industry organizations such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China on various externally funded research projects. She also has teaching experience in units such as Principles of Economics, Microeconomics, and Cultural and Creative Industries at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
