LVPEI is a worldwide-leading Indian institute pioneering the use of innovative corneal treatment techniques.
Danilo’s PhD is focused on the development of new electrospun carrier membranes for corneal regeneration and this placement has been highly relevant for the development of his project. Danilo has been able to try his scaffolds on human donor corneas working at Dr. Vivek Singh’s laboratory at LVPEI, who has broad expertise in the study of in vitro human corneal models. Danilo has described this placement as a very enriching experience both scientifically and personally.
